They help to protect some of the most vital organs in the body.Bone, or osseous tissue, is a connective tissue that constitutes the endoskeleton. All of these bones are named this way because of their flat shape. Some examples of flat bones are the bones on the skull, the ribs and the pelvic bones. Therefore these bones are crucial for the security of our vital organs. For example, the flat bones of the skull help to protect the brain, and the bones of the rib protect the lungs and the heart. These bones are present as they help to protect certain vulnerable parts of the body. All of these bones are named because of the flat shape that helps them to cover parts of the body and act as a barrier. The flat bones of the body are the ones that are present on the skull, the rib bones, and some of the pelvic bones. There are many different structures of bones like long bones, short bones, sesamoid bones, irregular bones, and flat bones. ![]() The bones of the body help to give all the organs, muscle, fat, skin, and all the other tissue that is present in our body a structure which they are attached to. There are different types of bones in our body that all have their own purpose. Bones are extremely hard and they help to support the entire structure of the body.
